Hey, I’m Dan Misdea, a cartoonist for The New Yorker and children’s book author from New Jersey.
After graduating from Penn State with a degree in Economics, I spent several years working in finance and accounting before becoming a cartoonist in 2020.
Since then, my work has appeared in The New Yorker, Air Mail, Narrative, The Times Luxury, The Golfer’s Journal, and elsewhere. I also have a bi-weekly panel, TBD: Toons by Dan, on Comics Kingdom. In 2024, I was awarded the Silver Reuben in Gag Cartooning by the National Cartoonists Society.
My first children’s book, The Light Inside, was nominated for an Eisner and my latest book, AB@C: And Other Gramograms, with Rob Meyerson is available now.
When I’m not drawing cartoons, you might find me golfing (poorly), giving tax advice to artists, or watching the Mets blow it in the 9th.
